I've lurked here for a very long time, but only recently have I felt compelled to post anything. I must remind everyone why we are here.
We are here for the impoverished "third-world," we are here to stand up to corrupt and reckless politicians and bureaucrats, we are here to stand up to the predatory credit industry who've enslaved or killed millions of people through debt all around the world. We are here as a solution to so many wrongs in our world and we need to lock arms in solidarity to accomplish these monumental challenges, not quibble over capital gains or which coin is better. We are here to do what those in power have no desire to do: help people, especially the poor. Never forget why we are here. If Wall Street wants to make a quick buck off us, fine, but don't believe for a second that you are one of them. The disparity in wealth between the rich and poor has never been greater, and millions are crushed by the exploitative, corrupt, and criminal financial industry. This is how we put people back at the center of finance and provide a system that ensures that no one can take your money.
Being a part of that is worth my optimism and my money, even if it were to fail. We control the success or failure of this endeavor, so be optimistic, be enthusiastic, but most importantly be an advocate. If we collectively do these things correctly, the price has no choice but to go up. So, focus on doing these things and forget about the price, which eventually won't matter. The true gain is found in the abstract.
