I've just read this other submission here: My Bitcoin Story (all started 7 years ago). I will remain faithful, where /u/thecommontheme told his story about journeying into Bitcoin at the beginning of his adult life.
I've read his story with fascination, because it could've been me. I am the same age, and I also journeyed into Bitcoin in the beginning of my adult life. I also had my fair share of crazy stories, that prevented me to have as much money in Bitcoin as I wanted. However, there were some things I did differently: instead of cashing out for college, I dropped out of college to start working as a junior programmer (meaning: coffee making machine) and buy bitcoins with the salary. At that time Bitcoin was $1000 dollar. At this point and from there on it was just going down for years. I had no patience, so I started travelling the world (working remotely) with the coins I was able to save up , but then I altcoined them all away, so I realized I need to change my mindset: I started investing my skills into Bitcoin, rather than my money. And here I am a couple of years later, in the Building Bitcoin conference, presenting my journey as a Bitcoin developer:

Anyway, I just wanted to point out the contrast. We started out the same, we are in similar financial situation today, because we made similar bad financial decisions. However the difference is, if Bitcoin crashes tomorrow, if I zero out tomorrow, I will still have the skills I've learned.
So, if the moral of his story was to hodl. The moral of my story would be to hodl, but also buidl. Enjoy the video!
