CIBC bank closes down my account for trading bitcoin /u/yushey1 Let me start off by introducing my small business. I day trade on the well known exchange, localbitcoins. Today I recieved a call from cibc saying that my 2 week old account has been having ALOT of cash in and out flow. They asked me why this was so. (I'm a student, so they were confused on how this kid is having daily 5k+ in and out from the bank). I just told them the truth. I was trading btc. The lady on phone said okay and she said my account will be unblocked in a few hours. 15 mins later, I recieve another call from CIBC (same lady) stating that after she discussed with her colleagues, my account will be closed down and I will have to exit the bank and find a new financial institution. I was like WTF. I had about 3k sitting in my account and I asked if I could withdraw it. They said not at the moment until further investigation. She kept throwing around the word "fraud" like I was doing some fucking drug deal or crime. So basically. My account is suspe nded and waiting to be closed . And I can't even withdraw my money.
