Experience in Buenos Aires with BTC

Experience in Buenos Aires with BTC /u/fuyukitaru Hi, I'm traveling at the moments and have been staying in Buenos Aires for the last 2 months. There are "cambio" guys all over the city and I imagined that at least a few of these money changers would have heard about Bitcoin by now. Unfortunately, only one of ten I talked to knew what it was and they didn't think it was legal to do (keep in mind that cambio is illegal in Argentina even though these guys are all over the place in public advertising their service). I also tried Local Bitcoins, there were a few listed for cash. After a short texting exchange online I was instructed to go down to an office, however, when I arrived, the person I was talking to over the intercom didn't seem to know about it and wouldn't let me in to the office... I did finally manage to find someone through a Bitcoin meet-up who offered to do an exchange for USD so I think I may give this a try. If anyone else out there has any advice or contacts down here for people who would be willin g to do a BTC for USD exchange at a fair rate, please let me know.
