So how is bitcoin going to scale?

So how is bitcoin going to scale? /u/TimeTravelingGroot My understanding may be incorrect as I am fairly new to Bitcoin, but if I'm understanding correctly, bitcoin can't currently support larger volumes which was why the fork was occurring. Since the fork didn't occur, bitcoin still can't support larger volumes which means it can't support "big money" investing in bitcoin.
