The driver's app sends tariff details (rate per units of distance and waiting time, upfront fee) to the client's app. If the client accepts, their app pays the upfront fee and the first unit of distance. After each unit of distance or waiting time, the driver's app bills another unit. The client's app uses the phone's clock and GPS to verify that another payment is in fact due and pays up. If the client's app feels like it is getting overcharged or it is running out of funds, its denies the next payment. The apps then notify their users, and the driver can drop off the client.
